This year 2024 USA Floorball Nationals was held in Niles, IL at the Loverde Recreation center and hosted by Floorball Chicago for Labor Day weekend. The tournament yielded 10 teams which brought over 120 players and was a well-attended and very exciting weekend. Teams this year consisted of NTFA, N2FA, Chicago Dogs, Chicago Mad Dogs, Menlo, Colorado, U19, Austin, New York City, and Minnesota.
During the Group Stage NTFA started by playing the Chicago Dogs and tied 1-1. The Second game was a winning game against Menlo with a score of 9-0. And Last game was against Colorado with a winning score of 4-1. NTFA continued their winning streak into their quarter final game against the New York city team with a score of 7-0 and their Semi-final game against Menlo with a score of 7-2.
After a very intense and tough final game... NTFA won in golden goal overtime with a goal scored by #6 Dan Torretta to bring the score to 4-3 against Floorball Chicago. This took NTFA to a USA Nationals 3-Peat win.
Congratulations to our Captain and NTFA GM Erik Fältström for taking home the MVP award of the entire tournament!! He is an exceptional player and leader! Congratulations are also in order for NTFA player Landon VanPatten having scored the most goals in the entire tournament. Landon had a total of 14 total points including 12 goals and 2 assists. Not going unnoticed are our AMAZING 2 NTFA goalies... Alex Gross with a 91% SVP and Ethan VanPatten with an 85% SVP.
NTFA is always proud when we are able to represent at any tournament with TWO teams. This year our N2FA team was led by Captain and NTFA Hype squad leader Tara Nunez. We were excited when players from both Richmond VA, Austin, and Florida were able to join the N2FA team. Unfortunately, we did not get the results we hoped for in any of our N2FA games, but we were super proud to have been able to join the tournament, play floorball, and make more floorball friendships!
